Kangaroo Kids Advocacy Project | April 2020 - Present
This is an advocacy project that advocates the importance of preschoolers living a healthy lifestyle, physically, mentally and having good eating habits. The target audience is parents with young children and the aim of having and posting activities, recipes and information on the site is to encourage and to reach out to parents who are unsure of how to improve or how to involve their child in a healthier lifestyle.
Challenges:
One challenge I faced was when my group members and I had already planned in detail a project to be implemented in real life. However, with news of COVID-19 spreading in Singapore and of a partial lockdown, we had to change our project activity completely to suit our current situation.
How I overcame it:
We decided to keep certain aspects of our earlier project and listed out possible platforms and ways to be able to reach out to parents.

Result:
We were able to quickly and efficiently come up with an alternative solution which was to make use of social media sites and an online website platform, Weebly. After presenting our idea to different Early Childhood practitioners as well as our lecturer, all of them commended us on our project idea and its feasibility.

What I learned:
I learned to be adaptable to different and unexpected situations. I also learned that being able to quickly and effectively problem solve will help to save more time for other things to be done.
